Conclusion

I’ve had that problem with a debit card when trying to pay an online bill. “Supposedly” the problem was where the address of the card user and the payer did not match up due to the account using two lines and the company being paid using one line for address. In addition, there were problems regarding the address format.

I believe that this was done in order to generate service fees for the company as trying to resolve it cost over 13 dollars and was never resolved. The card was issued by a credit union which was supposed to save money when in use.

If your card is issued by a bank, take the problem to the bank and have them try and resolve it. If this is not possible- take the card to an ATM ( the card issuer should have a list of no-fee/low fee ATMs on their website and withdraw the maximum amount of $300 US) then obtain and use another card.

Avoid the “CU Money” debit card as it is the one I had problems with. In addition, some companies do not accept the American Express debit card. So get one that is either a Visa or Master Charge debit card.
